Channel 7 News has reported on the extent of lockdown fatigue, compared to last year, using Intelematics traffic data.

The traffic report on 29th September 2021 revealed more cars on Melbourne roads in August 2021 compared to 2020.
The largest increases in weekday traffic between 9 am, and 5 pm were seen in Vermont South, Wantirna, Berwick, Doncaster East and Greensborough.
While the western suburbs of Melbourne showed only a small increase at the same time last year.
Experts put the increase in traffic down to:
- Lockdown fatigue
- Vaccine confidence, and
- Home delivery and click & collect boom.
